Galvanoform Gesellschaft für Galvanoplastik GmbH is a long-established precision mold maker focusing on molding tools for interior parts of the automotive industry, laminating tools for the aerospace industry and electroplated molds for other industries. The high precision of production distinguished the company, which has specialized in this segment since the mid-1950s. This makes GALVANOFORM one of the few suppliers in the world for this type of mold making and a specialist in solving customers' problems in the production of the highest quality plastic surfaces, e.g. in vehicle interiors. GALVANOFORM masters all the main stages of the value chain in mold making - the processes are in part time-intensive and require manual skills based on the many years of experience of its employees.
In recent years, in addition to the appreciation of its customers, the company also encountered market trends that were directly reflected in profitability. For example, trends in the automotive sector towards simpler geometries in the fittings sector and increasing pressure on margins had a negative impact on the company, and they initiated an initial reorganization as early as 2019 as part of insolvency proceedings in self-administration, which ended in November 2020. However, the restructuring measures implemented in the course of the insolvency plan were not able to take full effect, as the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the subsequent war in Ukraine left their immediate mark on the company's order book and income statement.
The insolvency administrator appointed in November 2022, Marc-Philippe Hornung of the law firm SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, and his team wanted to give the company another chance and commissioned Allert & Co. to conduct an investor process. After intensive market research, numerous potential investors were identified on an international level. The time frame and the complexity of the project ensured that the field condensed quite quickly. Due to the constructive cooperation of all parties it was possible to conclude an agreement with an investor who not only knew the company very well from the past, but was also considered to be very experienced in the industry: The entrepreneur Hans-Günter Bayer, together with co-investors, made the offer that offered the best perspective for the continuation of the company. As a result, 80 jobs were retained at the Lahr site as part of an acquisition concept. In addition, further measures are planned to secure the future of the company. The business operations of the precision toolmaker were transferred to Galvanoform Innovative Technologies GmbH with effect from April 01, 2023.
